Editorial

The editorial marks the beginning of the author’s tenure as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Entrepreneurial and Organizational Diversity (JEOD) in July 2025. It emphasizes the robustness of the journal’s existing editorial structure and the strong continuity between the current editorial direction and the vision established by previous Editors-in-Chief, ensuring coherence and stability in JEOD’s development. At the heart of the editorial is the conviction that diversity in organizational and institutional forms is essential. Rejecting the idea of convergence toward a single dominant economic model, the journal is committed to fostering debate on the wide range of organizational and governance arrangements that emerge in response to different social and economic challenges. JEOD particularly focuses on participatory and democratic forms of organization and their contribution to local development and social sustainability. The editorial further highlights an institutionalist perspective inspired by Elinor Ostrom, which challenges one-size-fits-all governance approaches and underscores the importance of polycentric, participatory, and locally grounded institutional solutions to collective action problems and market failures. In line with this orientation, JEOD welcomes rigorous theoretical and empirical research on cooperatives, social enterprises, and other organizational forms, encouraging comparative institutional analysis and innovative methodologies within an interdisciplinary framework. The editorial concludes by reaffirming JEOD’s commitment to open access and interdisciplinary scholarship, announcing a renewal of the editorial board, and inviting the academic community to actively contribute to and engage with the journal’s ongoing intellectual project.
